Silverdale Baptist certainly looks like a team destined for a deep postseason run again this year on the volleyball court.

The Lady Seahawks waltzed to a third straight TSSAA Division II-A East District 2 championship as they excelled in all phases of the game in Monday’s 3-0 sweep over Notre Dame by the scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-8.

Sophomore MacKenzie Lambert provided outstanding service with five aces in an overpowering 13-0 run to close the third set on a night where Silverdale (27-8) finished with 14 aces.

Lady Seahawks’ sophomore setter Kayla Meyer was active throughout the court, contributing a team-high 21 assists, six kills, three aces and one block. Meyer even rose high at the right side of the net to stuff a 50-50 ball for the final point in the second set.

Silverdale showcased a versatile array of hitters as senior Sophie Easterday led the title triumph with seven kills, while sophomores Jocelyn Stephenson and Emily Givens, along with senior Allison Schaeffer, combined for 15 kills.
