With Silverdale Baptist Academy’s offense sputtering on the road after a scoreless first quarter against Chattanooga Christian School, a switch at quarterback helped the Seahawks finally get going Friday night.

Silverdale senior Connor Jenne was nearly perfect in his return from an ankle injury that happened during a Sept. 4 win at Knoxville Webb and threatened to end not just his season but his prep career. However, he had TightRope surgery (a minimally invasive orthopedic procedure) to speed up his recovery, and Jenne’s health allowed him to offer the Seahawks a boost in their regular-season finale.

Entering the game with 11:56 remaining in the second quarter, Jenne’s first series back resulted in a 14-play, 89-yard touchdown drive in which he delivered clutch third-down conversions with a 21-yard pass to Cannon Rogers and an 8-yard rush. Jenne ended the drive by finding Luke Bowman for an 8-yard touchdown.

The Seahawks’ leader in career touchdowns with 74, Jenne only got stronger from there as he led four consecutive touchdown drives before exiting the game with a 28-0 lead at the 9:36 mark of the fourth quarter.

Jenne completed his last 10 passes to finish 11-of-12 for 151 yards and a pair of scores, including a 17-yard strike to Titus Hinkle just before halftime.
