Jamarr Jones spent three seasons on the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga defensive line. He started at defensive tackle against Tennessee Tech last September and had two assisted tackles in a 45-17 loss.
Saturday he will be on the other sideline. Jones wears No. 65 for the Golden Eagles now. He started their opener against Monmouth and broke up a pass in the fourth quarter.
He is one of four players on the Tech roster with Chattanooga ties. The others are defensive backs Timothy Jones, a Boyd-Buchanan graduate, Jay’un Smith, who played at Cleveland High, and Mason Goree of Bradley Central.
Tennessee Tech is 13th in the AFCA Coaches Poll and 12th in the Stats Perform poll and was picked second in the Southern Conference. Both teams are 1-0. Kickoff at Finley Stadium is 6 p.m.
