about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. You are assuming the new will be as you expect? Be careful what you wish for may be applicable here. I would like nothing more than for the in with the new being a clean sweep of D.C. and an all new cast of players. And, while wishing for the impossible I would prefer they all have very predictable Libertarian ideologies.

Do you think Obama has been dishonest or just ignorant regarding the things he incorrectly commented on? Keeping all his promises, campaign and otherwise, would be a good new year. I am convinced he is the least capable for the job yet the most dangerous to ever hold the position.

I agree as because what I hear is Pope Francis saying politicians should not prey on the poor for votes, the high debt of our country is doing a disservice to the poor, welfare programs are not the answer to the problem of poverty, including government programs that encourage single parent families, current economic policies, which are preventing economic growth, tax codes and government regulation are rigged to favor special interest groups.

You also have Obama and his Justice Department blocking school voucher programs that discourage under privileged children from receiving a quality education so they will continue to be dependent on the government.

Al this is one of the few times I do agree with you when you said Pope Francis is saying all the things that have needed to be said for years.

The war on poverty has done nothing but encourage people to live in poverty.

soakya, will you PLEASE try to understand that the cpaverify website is NOT a state based website. It is a third-party website that compiles records from differing sources, including what can be found on state based databases.

It is only as accurate as the person or people imputting the information and they state clearly on that site that the information they provide is not accurate in all cases.

And, with all due respect, which is very little at this point, I have repeatedly stated that I have NEVER listed my services to the public at large. I've ever had so much as a phone listing in a phonebook. My firm has always been totally private and it will remain so.

I provide my credentials to my clients...you know, the people who pay me for their services, and to the IRS when asked for them.

I do not do taxes or anyone's books, other than my own.

My area of expertise is in the administration of retirement plans. I once did this for more than 200 clients on a nationwide basis.

I am down to a handful of long-term clients, and my daughter is ramping up with her own client base in another line of accounting services.

How 'bout giving this crap a rest? What I do for a living has nothing to do with my participation in this forum, any more than what you do for a living.

I have never once lied about my personal circumstances in this forum, and I'm not now. I'm wide open in terms of my identity and most people know right where to find me, now that I have returned to my office.

No one gives a crap what I do, anymore that I care what you do.

I bet this airline passenger was Al.

An airline passenger had to be duct taped to his seat after becoming insufferably overbearing to other passengers during a trans-Pacific flight.

It happened on an Japan Skyway flight Thursday from Tokyo to New York.

According to witnesses, the unidentified man got up in front of the entire economy section area of the flight just after the captain of the flight had turned off the fasten seat belts sign and demanded everyone to pay attention as it was time for, “talking to all of you about signing up for Obamacare after we land."

The man then started “hitting all the canned OFA talking points,” according to airline spokesman Minoru Sato, who also said the passenger “just kept raising his voice as the boos got louder and louder from all the other passengers on the plane, but he just couldn't or wouldn't take the hint.”

“Finally to ensure a peaceful flight for those on board, he was restrained by passengers and crew and was monitored for his own safety for the duration of the flight,” he added.

Japan Skyway confirmed the incident adding that plastic ties and tape are standard on all flights.

“This equipment is on board all our flights in case an incident like this arises,” Sato said and also added with a bit of pride in his voice, "we made sure he was put back in his assigned seat, because at Japan Skyway when we say if you liked your assigned seating plan, you can keep your assigned seating plan, we actually mean it."

What makes you believe that I don't understand that? I am damn near an expert at verifying backgrounds of people who apply for credit with my business. I know what is accessible by the public and what is not.

You most certainly could find me listed with an appropriate database, IF YOU HAD ALL THE CORRECT INFORMATION.

You're never going to have that information, so give up the witch hunt. I have no problem sharing what I so desire about myself, but I do draw very few lines in the sand, and this is one of them.

"what you are trying to do is convince people you have a license but that the state, the entity that issued it has no record of it."

No I'm not. I'm merely telling you that you do not have enough information in which to verify my status, and that is not going to change.

"if you had a license you could not keep it private."

I've never implied that my license is private. My practice has always been totally private. I have repeatedly stated that you do not have enough information to look it up, and you have not the first clue WHERE to look it up.

"there is a reason for this, so folks like yourself cannot claim to anyone they are either of the things I listed."

Okey dokey. I'm truly wondering if your life will come to a horrible end if I were ever actually respond to your bullying tactics and prove to you that I am indeed a CPA.

That license allows me to charge some rather exorbitant fees. I'll be happy to show you it in person for $500.

CPAverify is an online central repository of information about licensed CPAs and public accounting firms maintained by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to provide a single-search resource covering participating jurisdictions where a person or firm has been licensed. With the wide-spread adoption of mobility, the need for the general public to be able to determine if a person or firm is licensed and in good standing is more prevalent than ever.

CPAverify is one of many trusted resources provided by NASBA. With its mission to enhance the effectiveness of State Boards of Accountancy, NASBA strives to make it easier for State Boards of Accountancy to protect the public. "CPAverify is an online central repository of information about licensed CPAs and public accounting firms maintained by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) to provide a single-search resource covering participating jurisdictions where a person or firm has been licensed."

Sir, there are ten states...TEN states...that do not provide information to NASBA regarding licensed individuals and/or firms.

"With the wide-spread adoption of mobility, the need for the general public to be able to determine if a person or firm is licensed and in good standing is more prevalent than ever."

Thank you for the sales pitch that you copied and pasted from the site.

Permit me to point out to you another paragraph that can be found on ths site;

"Disciplinary actions are reported based solely upon information provided by public agencies. Because of the potential for similar or identical names and because of the potential use of non-standard terms, you should independently confirm any indication of licensure or a lack of licensure or of a disciplinary record with the state board before taking any action based upon information provided through this database."

"CPAverify is one of many trusted resources provided by NASBA."

They don't even trust themselves to be accurate and complete.

"With its mission to enhance the effectiveness of State Boards of Accountancy, NASBA strives to make it easier for State Boards of Accountancy to protect the public."

Yet, ten states have decided to NOT disclose that information to that site.

"Through its consistent work, NASBA is privileged to have built a reputation as a trusted resource in both the regulatory profession and professional services industry."

It's a very incomplete reputation. You're putting YOUR trust in four-fifths of a pie.

That is not true see the link below. In fact it is the liberals who have destroyed the free market health care and insurance in this country and you honestly believe the government can fix it with Obamacare. How is that working out so far? Higher costs, people who were perfectly happy with their policies have now lost those policies. Now we have more people with out insurance and people who are struggling to pay for their new policies and premiums.

Now we have Obama telling these same people who lost these polices that ObamaCare said were not sufficient they can now go back and purchase these same policies. So if these policies were so bad ObamaCare had to stop people from purchasing them why is it alright to now have them?

Alprova, although Jesus' views line up with some liberal policies, I don't think todays libs would find some of his other 'social policies' all that appealing. It's hard to imagine unions being happy about the implications of the parable in which the master gave the worker who only worked 2 hours the same pay as those who worked all day.

And if he were a liberal, he'd be a politically incorrect one, blatantly favoring the Jews over other ethnicities---although that, it could be argued, was part of his mission as the Messiah of Jewish prophecy.

Still, he has a lot to say to us today--on both sides of the aisle....or the fence, if you prefer.

I have often said that Liberals are consistently liars, hypocrites and Socialists. Actually they seldom practice Socialism themselves.

They also have contempt for God's word but will hypocritically use God's word to advance Socialism for others.

For instance they sometimes cite Matthew 19:21:

"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

The Liberal will take this verse out of context trying to fool others. Several points:

1) Jesus was talking to ONE specific person here.

2) The man ultimately walked away because he did not want to give up his possessions. His riches were what was keeping him from becoming a disciple of Jesus during His earthly ministry.

3) Jesus knew his heart of course because He was God incarnate and He knows all our hearts.

4) Jesus never demanded that we give up all our possessions.

5) Notice that those who push this nonsense have possessions, they have wealth.

6) This is monumental hypocrisy! This is one of the three traits of Liberals.

7) Notice also that they are totally blind to their monumental hypocrisy!

I will agree that Jesus does not demand us to give up all our worldly posessions, but he does make it abundantly clear, several times in the New Testament, that those who cherish thier worldly posessions, rather than sharing what they have with the poor, will be judged accordingly.

I find it hard to believe someone of your arrogance and narcissism would not take advantage of this opportunity to shut up your distractors. there is really only 1 reason why you would not produce your license. you don't possess one. the 55 licensing jurisdiction confirms this.

Well alprova, that verse does not apply to me. You must have figured that out for you made no attempt to correct me.

I certainly agree with verse 23, it is God's word. I am glad to see that you recognize it as such yourself.

We Conservatives have a far better record of sharing with the poor than Liberals.

Liberals want government to do it absolving themselves of their responsibility.

It is so easy to be generous with another's money.

lkeitlu,

golden list? states issue licenses. you can go to each individual state to check the status of a cpa license just as you can a educator license or you can go to cpaverify where I believe 38 states report. cpa's are not like educators while you may be able to teach at a private school without a educators license you cannot even hold yourself out as an accountant in the state of TN without a cpa license. cpa's are the only people who are allowed to perform and sign off on financial audits. these "golden list" are so the public can check the status of a license holder and to make sure if someone says they are a cpa they are a cpa. its not a list where cpa's volunteer to be on, if you are a cpa you are listed, and if you are not listed and you are a cpa you would correct the problem.

just as you don't understand the role of nasba neither does alprova, you wouldn't be expected too but if alprova was a cpa he would understand nasba and how these "golden list" work
