about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

IT WAS OVER FROM THE START

Heralded as an independent investigation into 'Bridgegate,' this fluff piece by Christy lawyers and pals theorize that the GWB was shut down for four days because Deputy Chief of Staff Bridget Kelly had an affair with, and was subsequently dumped by, former campaign manager Bill Stepian. The report doesn't bother to explain the relevance. They claim that Bridget Kelly shut down the bridge because she got dumped. The report does not offer a reasoned explanation.

Maybe the could have thought up a reason if they interviewed either Kelly or Stepian.

This is not an investigative report. It's a thousand page narrative, a legal play book for the day Christy is indicted by the US District Attorney. Apparently Kelly and Stepian know where the bodies are buried because they are singled out in the report and discredited three different times. Claims by the Mayor of Hoboken are dismissed based on biased interpretation of the Mayor's body language.

At the end of the day none of this would have matter. Christy's Presidential dreams were dead long before the first orange cone blocked the first toll both. Long before administration officials told the Hoboken mayor she could have her millions in relief aid if she approved a private development that would benefit political cronies.

No, the campaign was doom the instant Christy shook hands with the President of the United States.

You haven't provided one sentence of scripture that instructs me as a Christian to see things your way.

"Again I would not bother with you except that you insist that you are a Christian even after you have blasphemed so many times."

Your opinion of the status of my soul is quite meaningless, very much like your assessments of the Bible.

You want to "instruct" me? Then get busy digging up the Biblical proof that Christians are exempt from adhering to the Ten Commandments that you claim only apply to ancient Jews.

Then, dig up all these alternative instructions that ONLY pertain to Gentiles, or Christians.

Maybe you should rethink altogether instructing anyone, anything, because you totally suck at persuading anyone that you know a thing about the Bible.

Blackwater, wrong, Christie will continue to be pushed by the liberal media as their candidate of choice to face Hellcat in the 2016 election. They like that he's not a conservative and that he shook BO's hand. He won't be the nominee, and Hellcat won't either.

The media tour he's been on over the last 2 days after this "finding" is part of the media's efforts to keep him alive. The liberal media knows he'll be a sacrificial lamb in 2016. What the media is scared of are folks like Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Rand Paul is hitting a nerve with his attack on the intrusion by the Gov. into our lives. He's hitting a nerve with young people. He probably won't win, but he can make it close. Hellcat, if she runs, will be elected simply because she has t%ts, just like BO won simply because it was "time for a black president."

Big Alprova, you first have to, based on faith, which most liberal progressives cannot comprehend, believe that as it states in the Bible that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. When you believe that Jesus is the Son of God you will acknowledge that as it is written in the the Bible that Christs birth, death, and resurrection was all about establishing the New Covenant between God and Christians that through FAITH your are saved not by, as in the Old Testament, through strict adherence to law, I.e. The 10 Commandments. That's it.

But as I stated earlier, since secular progressives, which by the way there is no middle ground or compromise, do not believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, then time spent debating with someone like Alprova is like, we'll, very, very, sad and boring. "OK, Ricky, what is your plan for life after death?" - joepulitzer

A long and restful sleep.

Seriously, I don't need a plan. I am not afraid to face the prospect of my mortality. And don't tell me that I will be singing a different tune when I'm actually faced with death and have time to ponder the consequences. I have done so already. I was confronted with what I thought was impending death on two occasions...and I did not feel compelled to call out to a mythical Jesus in a last minute plea for "salvation."

The only reason Christians cling to their faith, in spite of the overwhelming amount of evidence that the Bible is pure fiction, is because they are afraid to accept the fact that they/we, like every other being on the face of the earth, are mortal. Christians are so desperate to live forever that they are willing to hang on to childish beliefs to comfort themselves with the notion of eternal life. Christians do not embrace Christianity for the sake of living a moral and principled life, they embrace it for the simple reason that they are afraid to die and they dare not accept the fact that this is all she wrote.

Living in the moment is its own reward. To accept the fact that we are going to die one day and to fully realize that this is probably our one and only shot is to make life all the more precious. It's a shame that Christians are so limited in their thinking and imagination that they fail to see how liberating that really is. And I don't mean liberating in the sense that it means we can do whatever the hell we want, but liberating in the sense that it makes us even more responsible for our own actions, makes us more empathic and aware of others for the individual paths that they are on in this life, and allows us to fully appreciate and explore life and the cosmos without any illusions or artifice.

I admit that I do not KNOW what, if anything, awaits us after death. But whether it is an eternal sleep or a reincarnation of some kind or something else entirely, I do not fear a deity who is going to judge us based on whether we merely BELIEVED in accordance with his "Christian" dictates. It doesn't take a lot of deep thinking and probing to realize that that God is purely a myth, as is a literal heaven and hell. IF there is a God of any kind, she/he/it does and will respect the fact that I have probed and dug and pondered the meaningful questions of life and come to my own conclusions about things. There is no hell of eternal damnation and suffering and no invisible sky daddy demanding obedience to a creed or a book. It's too bad that so many Christians are so pathetically, desperately clingy to that sort of petty, two-dimensional caricature of a God.

All Christians are exempt from the Mosaic Law, with it's many burdensome commands and that is a lot of exemptions.

No man, not one, was ever made right with God by keeping the law.

Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Galatians 2:16

It most certainly does state that Jesus is the Son of God. I have absolutely no problem with that at all. But to believe that Jesus and God were or are one and the same, is not based on Biblical scripture.

"When you believe that Jesus is the Son of God you will acknowledge that as it is written in the the Bible that Christs birth, death, and resurrection was all about establishing the New Covenant between God and Christians..."

Nope. We depart there. Nothing is written in the Bible that instructs me that as a Christian or a Gentile, that I am allowed to live a life in disregard of the Old Testament covenants and commandments.

"...that through FAITH your are saved not by, as in the Old Testament, through strict adherence to law, I.e. The 10 Commandments. That's it."

Apparently, it isn't. But then, it would be nice to find someone willing to address the issues I have raised in the past. I WANT to be corrected. I want to be proven wrong.

The Bible is supposed to reveal all. So where is it? How are all these mysteries and contradictions cleared up?

The word Christian only appears in the ENTIRE Bible THREE times. That's it. So where are all these alleged covenants that exist and apply only to Christians?

Sir, anytime you dare to compare earnings, let's be sure to meet. Selling cars for the past three years has made me a fine living.

"I'm not fully aware of your vast knowledge of the Bible. So, for starters, tell me who is Jesus of Nazareth?"

Nope. It's not going to work like that. You jumped in. You answer my questions and dig in to responding to my challenges or we have nothing to discuss.

Who the hell are you anyway? All you've ever been good for is stepping on toes in here. I don't recall you ever taking a stance on anything, ever.

Connie wrote: "All Christians are exempt from the Mosaic Law, with it's many burdensome commands and that is a lot of exemptions."

So then, where in the New Testament may I read of these exemptions and new rules for "Christians."

It's certainly not outlined in the three scriptural references where the word "Christian" appears. So where are all these exclusions?

"No man, not one, was ever made right with God by keeping the law."

You have absolutely of knowing what, if anything, it takes to be in the Good graces of God. No man alive does.

"You don't know the laws concerning the Sabbath even though they are in the Bible."

Hey...you are the person who was attempting to defend the change of the weekday that one gathers to worship God, not I.

I know full and well what is written in the Bible. You're attempting to justify your beliefs based on the testimonials of what people did long ago. What is and always has been missing is the written quotations from God or his Son, overturning commandments that were laid down.

"Based on what you have said, you obviously have never read them."

If that were remotely true, then you would be able to point out my untruthful statements with Biblical proof.

Where is it Connie?

"You don't keep the Sabbath, you have never kept the Sabbath Law."

Before you even try to go down that road, what have YOU been up to all day? Are you even remotely aware that you have failed to keep this day holy?

I guess in your book, it is permissible to attempt to point out the sins of others, while committing the very same sin yourself.

You self-righteous, sanctimonious, hypocrite.

Attention Mr. Anthony Provancher, a.k.a. alprova, you wrote :

"It most certainly does state that Jesus is the Son of God. I have absolutely no problem with that at all. But to believe that Jesus and God were or are one and the same, is not based on Biblical scripture."

Your years of cult Mormon indoctrination told you that the "Son" part of Son of God means He was born just like us, by a mother and father.

That is why you once wrote of a "Mrs. god." You were also taught another gross blasphemy that Satan and Jesus were brothers. And what is the name of that planet where they came from, you know, the one that does not exist?

Attention Mr. Anthony Provancher, a.k.a. alprova, you wrote this blasphemy:

The son of a dog is a dog. The son of a cat is a cat.

The infinite Holy God spoke often spoke to us humans who have very limited knowledge in language we could understand.

The Son of God is God!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. John 1:1-3

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

There are other proofs, but you can not get past this one. The Bible is the Word of Truth, Jesus said God's word is truth.

You on the other hand are a blasphemous liar!

You refute yourself when you claim that you are a Christian.

You are not a member of a Christian Church in spite of your lie that you are a member of three.

No Christian Church, not even one, much less three, would permit you to be a member.

Tomorrow is Sunday the first day of the week, the Lord's day, because the perfect sinless Jesus rose from the dead, the day that Christians meet and worship.

It is also day when many are off and will be reading the paper. They will read your anti Christian Blasphemous words.

I will ask anyone reading your words who professes to be a Christian, to come forth and say if they believe you.

Rickaroo, I think for myself. Nobody tells me what to think.

Back to politics. I'll tell you, if the GOP nominates Jeb Bush, or Christie, or some other country club Republican, I ain't voting.

I'll vote for Paul, but not those two. Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton enough already.

Sure they would. Your church would too, especially if Al told them he would give them a few hundred bucks, build them a new parking lot, or buy them a dozen copperheads and a dozen rattlesnakes. They'd tell you to get lost, that they no longer needed the two quarters you painstakingly put in the collection plate each week.

Sir, the Bible clearly states that Jesus was downloaded from a womb, jus like you and I. That means he was human, just like you and I.

Was God his father? We were made in his image, correct? Apparently God was not one to kiss and tell, so those details were not totally divulged.

You would have everyone believe that he implanted himself in the womb, downloaded himself as a temporary human, lived as a human for approximately 30 years, and then went back home?

Who was minding the store when he was on Earth? It's ridiculous!! Nowhere in the Bible is the Trinity supported. It's a fairytale.

"You were also taught another gross blasphemy that Satan and Jesus were brothers."

Hhmm...I know damn well I have never written anything like that. You're an ace at making sh!t up, aren't you?

"And what is the name of that planet where they came from, you know, the one that does not exist?"

Hey...this is your tale. Don't ask me to fill in your fantasies for you.

You're attributing things to me that I know have never been written in this forum by myself.

You might try sticking to the truth for once.

That's great. The only problem is that the Bible contains very little that came from God. A handful of quotes, at best.

The rest was written by human beings. Deny it. Denounce it. What you cannot do is refute it.

"You on the other hand are a blasphemous liar!"

Then prove it moron. If I was lying, you'd be able to prove it.

"You refute yourself when you claim that you are a Christian."

That's merely your opinion, and nothing more.

"You are not a member of a Christian Church in spite of your lie that you are a member of three."

I could not care less what you believe. I'm quite sure that I would never want to be a member or even care to attend your kind of church.

"No Christian Church, not even one, much less three, would permit you to be a member."

I rather think that you're the person without a church to call home. How many times have you been asked to leave a church?

I don't expect an honest answer to that, but I'm betting you are one friendless chap, for sure.

Jesus sinned, and here's the proof;

http://www.religioustolerance.org/chr_jcsi2a.htm

"It is also day when many are off and will be reading the paper. They will read your anti Christian Blasphemous words."

The words that appear in this forum do not make the printed version of the Times Free Press. Are you truly that stupid?

"I will ask anyone reading your words who professes to be a Christian, to come forth and say if they believe you."

You're the only person seeking approval for what is written. I type truisms. I have asked you repeatedly to prove any one of them to be incorrect.

You don't seem capable of rising to the challenge, or my statements are indeed true and correct.

I don't care if anyone believes them or not. But my true statements will stand when the world is on fire.

One day, you might begin to understand that I have never asked you to change a thing you believe. I deal in reality and that which is reasonable.

You're a man of blind faith, having had fundamental Christianity cramming your brain for quite sometime.

I don't see anyone rushing to defend any of your statements either.
