Some Erlanger nurses to get raises

Pay raises totaling $3.5 million are going to about 1,100 bedside nurses at Erlanger hospital, though the hospital is not providing across-the-board pay raises this year, officials said this week.

The raises, to be given in July, will average 4.7 percent for some front-line nursing staff members, and no raise will be less than 4 percent, according to hospital Chief Financial Officer Britt Tabor.

Additionally, employee health benefits will not be cut in the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1, according to a transcript of a video message from hospital President and CEO Jim Brexler, posted Monday to the hospital’s intranet site for employees.

The raises for some nurses are part of an ongoing process to adjust pay for staff members who make less than market averages, starting with bedside nurses who are “farthest out of market in compensation,” Mr. Brexler said in the transcript.
