Police: Getaway car left without suspect

A 20-year-old man who police said missed his getaway ride posted a $6,300 bond Friday morning on robbery-related charges.

Chattanooga police still are searching for three other suspects in connection with a home invasion robbery Thursday night at 900 Mountain Creek Road.

Donte Terry, of Chattanooga, faces a charge of criminal conspiracy to commit robbery. Police believe he set up the robbery, entering the apartment for a few minutes, then leaving, telling the occupants he was going for a beer.

Two men and a woman soon burst in and took numerous electronic devices, including a computer, three cell phones and disc jockey equipment, police said. Terry came back in and was ordered to lie on the floor with the apartment occupants.

When the robbers left, Terry followed. The three got in Terry’s car, which was running. He tried to get in, too, but fell and was left, the police report stated.

Terry told police he always leaves his car running when he parks it, and he denied any involvement in the robbery.

Terry’s next court date is scheduled for May 9 before General Sessions Judge Bob Moon.
