Singer/songwriter Mark Kelly Hall has scheduled a Black Friday show in Cleveland, Tenn. He plans “a mix of holiday tunes, originals and other songs you already like,” he says.
Now based in Nashville, Hall is originally from the Chattanooga area and a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He addresses topics such as love, faith and the ’70s in his music, reflecting the spiritual heritage of the Bible Belt South, a lifelong fascination with American pop culture and his experiences in places far away from his native Tennessee.
His style recalls James Taylor and Jim Croce, and his presentation is flavored with congeniality, personal insight and a touch of country blues.
The show, set for 6-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, takes place at Inman Coffee, near the theater in Bradley Square Mall, 200 Paul Huff Parkway.
Like its larger predecessor, Inman Street Coffeehouse, the mall shop is operated by The Salvation Army, which Hall credits with “a long history of employing the creative arts to reach people.”
This is a free show, but Hall will donate his tips to the organization.
