KNOXVILLE — Tennessee’s new tight ends coach will make more than the previous coach of the position.
Larry Scott will make $360,000 per year as one of the two new additions to the Volunteers’ staff, according to the coach’s contract released by Tennessee on Thursday.
Scott’s deal, which was signed after he was hired last month, is for two years through February 2018.
Mark Elder, Tennessee’s tight ends coach and special teams coordinator the previous three seasons, was the lowest-paid coach on staff in 2015 with a salary of $240,000.
In December Elder was hired as the head coach at Eastern Kentucky, and Tennessee tabbed Scott as his replacement shortly after its Outback Bowl win on New Year’s Day.
