Train deaths story went too far
I thought the article “Train Deaths ‘just a tragic accident,'” Sept. 1, front page, written by Kate Harrison, concerning the accident involving Michael Hennen and Hannah Barnes went way beyond the bounds of common decency. I am shocked that your newspaper allowed the gory details of Michael and Hannah’s deaths to remain in the article.
Isn’t it enough to say they were hit by a train? We don’t need a description of what happens when a train hits a person.
And shame on you for calling both families at home for a statement. What could they have added to your story, more tears?
