2022 will be an all-important year
I toasted away 2021 at midnight Friday, blinked and it was 2022.
I wish I could say the past year flew by, but it didn’t. It began with the continuation of the former guy’s election fraud lie and a treasonous coup attempt, then it dragged on and on and on with the arrivals of first one then another COVID-19 variant.
The year’s bright spot was the final development and approval of vaccines, along with President Joe Biden’s quick actions to get adequate supplies of shots into production and into 204 million arms in the U.S.
The trouble, of course, is that 39% of Americans (49% of Tennesseans and Georgians) remain unvaccinated, either because they are very young children or because they are vaccine hold-outs – many because of more far-right misinformation.
