Delivery mishap leads to kidnap charge

A man angry over a misdelivery was arrested after he forced the delivery men at gunpoint to return to the store on Saturday, Chattanooga police said.

In a news release, spokeswoman Jerri Weary said Jovany Descene and Joseph Manning were making a delivery from Select Comfort, a bedding store at Hamilton Place mall, on Saturday to Thomas Gunn at 3009 St. Paul St.

Gunn, 76, found an error in the order, Weary said. He pulled a gun and made the men drive him to the store with the intention of confronting the manager. But police met the group and arrested Gunn before he entered the mall, Weary said.

Gunn is charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping and possession/carrying an unlawful weapon, Weary said.
