A juvenile on a motorcycle involved in a chase with police on Interstate 75 in Whitfield County on Sunday crashed five minutes after the chase began, said Wesley Burchett, an operator for Georgia Highway Patrol.
The juvenile was checked into Gordon Hospital in Calhoun as of 10:40 p.m. Sunday, though hospital officials said his condition could not be released until Monday.
Police said the motorcycle was reported stolen.
Police attempted to pull the juvenile over for speeding, Mr. Burchett said. The juvenile began running from police at 6:07 p.m. around exit 328 and crashed five minutes later near mile marker 322, he said.
The case is still under investigation, Mr. Burchett said.
