Perhaps it’s inevitable that thoughts turn to romance as Valentine’s Day approaches – and not just for humans. Guests at the next Chattanooga Zoo event on Friday, Feb. 12, will learn how the resident animals “do the wild thing.”
This look at the wilder side of love is part of Wild at Heart, a Cocktails for Conservation event that raises funds for the zoo’s many conservation initiatives.
In keeping with the Valentine’s Day theme, emphasis will be placed on the many breeding pairs at the zoo, their mating rituals and the importance of breeding these animals in captivity.
“Wild at Heart is a great event for us to share all that we do that you may not learn about on a typical visit to the zoo,” says Dardenelle Long, CEO and president.
Open to ages 21 and older, the event features an open bar with beer, wine and a signature cocktail, light hors d’oeuvres, animal meet-and-greets, photo opportunities and behind-the-scenes tours. Guests also can show their support by participating in a silent auction, adopting an animal couple or purchasing event wine glasses or other souvenirs. Guests also will be the first to meet some of the zoo’s newest residents.
