Lookouts lose third straight to Pensacola

Pensacola center fielder Donald Lutz drove in three runs Thursday night to lead the Blue Wahoos to a 5-4 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts before an announced crowd of 1,808 at AT&T Field.

The loss was the third straight for Chattanooga, matching a season high. The Lookouts dropped to 14-20 and are six games under .500 for the first time since being 6-12 on April 24.

Chattanooga trailed 5-3 entering the ninth inning and got two runners on when T.J. White walked and Stuart Turner singled. Shannon Wilkerson then hit into a double play that resulted in White scoring.

Thursday’s game was delayed an hour and 26 minutes by rain in the bottom of the sixth inning with Pensacola leading 5-3.

Turner and Shannon Wilkerson had back-to-back home runs to left field in the fifth inning to help the Lookouts shave a 4-1 deficit to 4-3. The Blue Wahoos scored two runs earlier in the fifth on a Lutz single to center that brought in Zach Vincej and Alex Blandino.

Chattanooga scored the game’s first run in the first inning, when Zach Granite led off with a single to center, stole second and came home on Ryan Walker’s single to center.

Ryan Eades (1-2, 5.70 ERA) is scheduled to start tonight’s 7:15 series finale for the Lookouts, with Amir Garrett (3-2, 1.26) scheduled for the Blue Wahoos.
