University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men’s basketball coach John Shulman had a feeling it would be a long night in Clarksville even before his team took the floor at Austin Peay.
He didn’t like what he saw. Something didn’t seem quite right about the Mocs’ body language.
“I could tell by the look in the guys’ eyes,” Shulman said. “There was no urgency with our guys at all.”
Austin Peay humbled UTC 89-57.
The proper approach returned before UTC’s last game, a 70-65 win at UNC Greensboro that came down to the last minute with Ricky Taylor hitting two free throws, Chris Early sinking a 15-foot jump shot and Omar Wattad sealing it with two free throws.
