A 60-year-old man who was pulled from a house fire on Sunday has died from the injuries he sustained.

Archie Ray Brian Powell was found toward the back of a burning home on the 2600 block of East 38th Street after firefighters forced their way in through a side window, according to a news release.

He was rushed to Erlanger with serious injuries, but he was then flown overnight to a burn unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville where he later died.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but authorities believe it started on the front porch.

This is the second fire-related fatality in Chattanooga this year. The first occurred on the 1000 block of North Hickory Street in February after firefighters pulled a 78-year-old woman from another house fire. She also died a few days later in the hospital.
