Winter weather tileThere has been no snow, but plenty of frozen rain in Spring City this morning, conditions which are noticeably worse than just down the road in Dayton.
On Dayton Mountain, where snow and ice tend to accumulate even when valley areas see mild winter weather, mere gray skies and hints at ice sat in this morning but there was a lack of accumulated precipitation of any kind.
Around 11 a.m., Spring City’s frozen rain mixed with regular rain. Roads remain in good condition, thanks to higher-than-freezing temperatures and frequent runs by TDOT salt trucks along major thoroughfares.
Railroad workers ran track maintenance along the rails, also.
Forecasters warn that ugly weather could still be on its way, though the day so far has seen little to no dramatic weather.
