While the Calhoun High School baseball team endured its first loss of the year but rallied for a 4-3 win in the second game of its Georgia Class AA state finals series against Cook High in Adel today, Ringgold finished as state runner-up in Class AAA by losing 2-1 and 13-6 against Columbus High at Columbus State University.

Ringgold (28-11) took a 5-3 lead into the fifth inning of Game 2 in the best-of-three series, but Columbus (32-5) scored five runs that inning to take control.

Calhoun (34-1) trailed 3-1 before a three-run home run by Zach Bradley propelled the Yellow Jackets into a deciding game today at 5 p.m. The Calhoun-Cook contest will end the school year for Georgia high school sports.
