The Benwood Foundation announced today that is investing $1.65 million over the next three years in a new program amined at boosting the production and consumption of locally-grown food.
The goal of the Gaining Ground program is to increase the number and capacity of local food growers and producers, better connect growers to markets, and increase access to and highlight the importance of buying locally-grown food, according to a new release.
Jeff Pfitzer, who was director of special projects at RiverCity Co., will lead Gaining Ground.
