LOOKOUTS 6, BISCUITS 5
Tuesday’s recap: Jonathan Rodriguez’s grand slam to left-center field in the ninth inning capped Chattanooga’s most dramatic victory of the season. The Lookouts trailed 5-0 entering the eighth inning, when they avoided the shutout on a Rodriguez double to right that scored Edgar Corcino. Montgomery relief pitcher Yoel Espinal entered in the ninth and allowed a Jose Gonzalez infield hit and walks to Ryan Walker and Levi Michael to load the bases. Espinal then hit Engelb Vielma with a pitch to make it 5-2, setting the stage for Rodriguez’s heroics. The win was the eighth in the last nine games for Chattanooga (18-14).
Next up: Game three of a five-game series in Montgomery is tonight at 8:05 EDT.
Pitchers: The Lookouts will made a game-day decision, while Mike Franco (2-0, 1.53 ERA) is scheduled to start for the Biscuits.
