Dr. Josh Ooten is the Doctor of Physical Therapy at ATI’s new Broad Street location. Ooten is originally from Soddy Daisy and graduated from Soddy Daisy High School.Owner: Previously called North River Physical Therapy, the company was purchased by ATI Physical Therapy three years ago. However, previous owners Andy Marini, Gary Carlson and Chris Maschhoss have stayed on as the area’s regional directors.
Year opened: Marini, Carlson and Maschhoss opened their first physical rehabilitation center in Hixson 26 years ago, in 1980.
Locations: ATI now has 12 locations around Tennessee and Georgia. The primary location is in Hixson, at 2125 Northpoint Blvd.
New openings: The company recently opened a downtown Chattanooga location at 1700 Broad St. #120. ATI spokeswoman Courtney Jones said the practice aims to have locations wherever its patients live, and the large number of St. Elmo and Lookout Mountain residents driving to other locations necessitated one nearby. They also opened a new location in Dalton, GA.
Specialties: The licensed therapists primarily treat orthopedic pain, especially stemming from recent knee, hip, neck and back surgeries. However, many of their patients come for chronic and routine pain.
