Nearly 2 inches of rain across the Chattanooga area have caused flash flooding on area streets and numerous traffic accidents.
A small mudslide has closed the W Road and flooding is occurring around Eastgate Town Center and on Winding Lane.
In Catoosa County, Ga., several roads were reported flooded, including Battlefield Parkway at Dietz Road. Cross Street at Riddle Road is closed.
Numerous accidents were weather-related across the area. Two with injuries were reported on northbound Interstate 75 at the junction with Interstate 24 and on Ringgold Road near South Moore Road.
As of 3:30 p.m. the National Weather Service reported the rain was ending with only spotty showers in the forecast for the rest of the day.
