The Helen Ross McNabb Center will also soon need help with its Dear Santa Drive.“Dear Santa is for kids that would not have Christmas and that are not receiving gifts from the Angel Tree,” said Southeast Region Senior Director Gayle Lodato. “We hope to sponsor 70 kids. Need a warm coat for this fall and winter? Helen Ross McNabb Center wants to help out.
One of the center’s extensions, Lighthouse Peer Support Center, is asking for donations for its Fall Community Coat Drive running through Oct. 31. The drive benefits clients of the Chattanooga Community Kitchen.
The drive’s organizers are looking for donations of new or gently used clean winter coats for adults. Donations can be dropped off at the Helen Ross McNabb Center Administration building, at 6049 Shallowford Road, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
People can also call 756-1295 and someone will come pick up donations.
