Consignment shops use Web to help sell used clothing

As expectant mother Kirstin Chambers shopped for her first baby’s clothes Friday, she was already planning how to sell them.

Babies grow quickly, and unless parents find something to do with the clothes and toys they leave behind, closet space becomes an ever more precious commodity.

So Chambers plans to switch from a buyer to a seller at local kids’ consignment sale Jack and Jill when her new daughter’s dresses become too small.

“This is a good way to get rid of them,” she said, pulling a dress from hundreds on the rack to show her mother.

Dawn Vanover said the dress was cute and showed Chambers a few dresses she’d pulled herself.
