Chattanooga Zoo will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a membership drive Saturday.
Since its origins in 1985, the Warner Park facility has invested nearly $9.8 million in new and renovated exhibits and grown from 2.5 to 14 acres.
The zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the first 50 visitors will be able to purchase a $55 family membership for $25.
Aside from supporting the zoo, memberships grant free zoo admission for 12 months, exclusive previews of exhibits and discounted admission to zoo events, free or discounted admission to more than 150 other zoos and aquariums, free subscription to the zoo’s quarterly magazine and monthly e-newsletter, 10 percent discount on purchases in the gift shop, discounts on birthday parties, camps and classes, and free one-time guest passes.
Regular membership prices are $35 for an individual, $55 for family or grandparent membership, $135 for director’s circle.
