Chattanooga Prep hires new development director
Chattanooga Preparatory School recently announced that it hired Elizabeth Williams to serve as the school’s director of development.
Williams serves as board vice chair for the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga, where she has been a board member since 2015. She also most recently served on the Ed Johnson Memorial Committee and co-chaired its capital campaign.
She has previously worked at Chattanooga Charter School of Excellence, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Miami Dade College, United Negro College Fund and the United Way.
Williams also is a founding member of the Sankofa Fund for Civic Engagement, an African American giving circle launched in 2015, and serves on the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera’s Board of Directors.
Chattanooga Prep is the city’s only all-boys public charter school. Opened in 2018, the school was founded by Ted and Kelly Alling and is modeled after the success of Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy, its sister school.
A native of Springfield, Massachusetts, Williams earned a bachelor’s degree from Westfield State University and a master’s degree in education from Springfield College.
