Cody Standridge, 34

Chief operating officer, Storm Power Components

Who’s your favorite “Game of Thrones” character?

Ned Stark was the best. He was dependable, loyal and had an unwavering sense of justice. I almost stopped reading the series when he died. “He who passes the sentence should swing the sword” is one of my all-time favorite quotes.

Which GOT character do you think you would be?

I can probably relate the most with Jon Snow. He’s honorable, pragmatic and does whatever it takes to get the job done.

Who would you have put on the Iron Throne?

I would have created an alliance and let each of the kingdoms rule themselves, very similar to what Sansa did with the North. If you don’t like how they are doing things in Dorne, move to the Vale.

Last book you read and/or show you binge-watched?

The last book I read was “The Missing Piece.” The last show I binge-watched was “The Sopranos.” I highly recommend it for anyone who’s looking at restructuring their organization or managing multiple business units, especially in the waste management industry.

If you ruled the world (or Chattanooga), what would you change?

I would work hard to increase the quality of life for all residents through job opportunities, better education and affordable housing.

Who would be on your advisory council?

If I ruled the world, my Master of War would be Gen. Mattis. Warren Buffet would be my Minister of Coin. Dick Cheney would be my Master of Whisperers. I would select Oprah Winfrey as the Hand of King. My wife, Amanda, would be the Queen Regent.

Is ruler a position you’d even want?

I don’t think I would turn it down if offered, but it’s not something I would seek. Heavy lies the crown. I think that Zig Ziglar is on to something with the wheel of life concept. Balance is the key.

What drives you professionally and/or personally?

Professionally, I’m driven by the thrill of the hunt. The challenge drives me more than anything. I enjoy solving complex business problems. Personally, I’m driven by my family.

What’s one thing you’d really like to accomplish?

Has that goal changed over the years? I am a very goal-oriented person. I have several long-term and short-term goals that I’m working on. I’ve found that as I change and grow, most of my goals do the same. One of my goals that hasn’t changed is to give back. I’ve been very fortunate in my life to have great mentors and positive role models. Good leaders make those around them better.
