Eovaldi sharp in easy victory

Nathan Eovaldi picked a good night to pitch a great game.

With several of the Dodgers’ personnel staff in attendance, Eovaldi pitched seven shutout innings to help the Lookouts beat Jacksonville 10-2 on Friday night at AT&T Field.

Eovaldi allowed three hits – no runners beyond first base – walked one and struck out five in his 13th start of the season for Chattanooga.

“He was able to spot his pitches and work off his fastball,” manager Carlos Subero said. “Anytime he finished with a slider, he had good results. It was a good game.”

The Lookouts backed him with just their fifth 10-run game of the season and eight of nine starters reached first base at least once. The Lookouts hit four home runs for the first time this season.
