COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Putnam County officials are studying new guidelines for adding veterans’ names to a Fallen Heroes monument.
The issue is whether to include the names of those who did not die in action. According to the Cookeville Herald-Citizen, several requests have been made to honor those who survived military duty.
Putnam County Veterans Organization secretary Chuck Mateyka has recommended that names on the monument be only those killed in action.
The monument is on the county square.
