MIAMI – Tropical Storm Julia has formed in the Atlantic with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph (65 kph).
Officials have issued a tropical storm warning for parts of the Cape Verde Islands on Sunday, including Maio, Sao Tiago, Fogo and Brava.
On Sunday night, Julia was located about 110 miles (175 km) southeast of the Cape Verde Islands. Its moving around 12 mph to the west-northwest. Julia is expected to strengthen and could become a hurricane this week.
