Wes Moore and his University of Tennessee at Chattanooga women’s basketball team are in unfamiliar territory.
The Lady Mocs have lost three straight games and seven of 10 to start the season – the program’s worst start since opening 4-6 during Moore’s first season in 1998-99. They’re young, short on depth and badly need a win tonight at Kennesaw State (2-6) to build some confidence before taking some time off for Christmas.
“It’d be nice to get a win before you go home for a break and you have five or six days to think about it,” Moore said, “so hopefully we can end on a positive note.”
The Lady Mocs lost two Southern Conference road games last week, 56-50 at the College of Charleston and 77-69 in overtime at Georgia Southern.
Even though UTC had some good defensive stretches in those games, Moore said the Lady Mocs had too many team-defense breakdowns.
