Your Wednesday at a glance:

Good morning, Chattanooga!

I don’t know if you’ve seen them, but works of art have been popping up in my neighborhood since I moved in.

Maybe you’ve seen a sign with a baby potato painted on it that says “I’m a tiny potato and I believe in you.” Or another that reads “You’re a work of art.” And one of my favorites: “Do more of what makes you happy.”

According to the artist, there have been around 700 pieces put up so far, which include anything from inspirational messages to memes. And sometimes, it’s just a cat.

Here, read the story behind Art for the People and its anonymous artist and check out a few of the paintings that have surfaced around town.

Now for some recent stories:

HELPING HAND: After his family lost their home to a fire, Tennessee Vols basketball player Zakai Zeigler has been blown away by the outpouring of support.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING: A 63-unit senior affordable housing project is being planned for Brainerd.

NOT SO TAXING: Tennessee is among the top 10 states for lowest combined state and local tax burden.
