A 4-year-old playing with a lighter started a fire on Pinewood Drive, according to Chattanooga Fire Department Training Chief Mack Moore.
Firefighters responded to 7501 Pinewood Drive in East Brainerd around 8 p.m. Saturday and found fire coming from a window on the front of the house.
All residents were out of the structure, and firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.
After questioning the residents, fire investigator Lt. Anthony Moore determined the fire was started by the 4-year-old resident.
One resident was treated for minor burns at the scene by Hamilton County EMS.
