Home invaders take cash, drugs

Money and prescription drugs appear to be the motive behind a weekend home invasion at 316 Stringer St., according to Chattanooga police spokeswoman Sgt. Jerri Weary.

Police responded to the residence just before 9:30 Saturday morning and were told by William and LeeAnna Reed that two masked and armed white males kicked in their back door while they were asleep. Once inside, they demanded money and Mrs. Reed’s medications, Sgt. Weary said.

The armed suspects were described as two white males wearing bandanas over their face and dark sweats carrying handguns, Sgt. Weary said. The suspects took $261 in cash and $250 in prescription medication, Sgt. Weary said. The Reeds were not harmed in the incident and police are still looking for suspect leads in the case.
