LOOKOUTS 7, SMOKIES 1
» Friday’s road recap: The Chattanooga Lookouts secured a rain-shortened victory to start an 11-game road trip that will take them to the end of the first half of the Southern League season. Scott Moss (4-2) allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five batters as he pitched all six innings for the Lookouts, who improved to 33-26. Chattanooga’s Calten Daal and Jose Siri each had two hits, and Daal drove in three runs. The Lookouts led 3-0 after 4 1/2 innings, but Jhonny Pereda’s one-out RBI single for Tennessee in the bottom of the fifth ended the shutout. Daal hit a two-run triple as part of the Lookouts’ three-run sixth to make it 6-1, and TJ Friedl’s one-out homer in the seventh capped the scoring. Rain started after that, trouble with the tarp led to flooding in the infield and the game was called as the Smokies dropped to 28-32.
