Ensworth guard Kaiya Wynn became the second five-star prospect to commit to the Tennessee Lady Volunteers for the 2021 recruiting cycle when she announced her pledge Thursday afternoon via social media.

The 5-foot-10 Wynn is the No. 23 overall recruit in the HoopGurlz/espnW 100 national rankings and the No. 9 guard. Five-star prospect and No. 48 overall recruit Karoline Striplin, a 6-2 forward from Geneva County High School in Hartford, Alabama, committed to Tennessee in early February.

Wynn averaged 15.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game for the Nashville private school during the 2019-20 season, when she was a TSSAA Division II-AA Miss Basketball finalist. In the state tournament in early March, Wynn averaged 14 points, five rebounds and 2.5 assists in two games at Lipscomb University as the nationally ranked Lady Tigers beat Baylor 66-29 in the semifinals and Brentwood Academy 73-53 to win the title and complete an undefeated season.

Dan Olson, in his evaluation for espnW, described Wynn’s stock in the high school class of 2021 as rising and referred to her as an “explosively athletic guard” who “handles and attacks the defense in transition game,” has a “college-ready frame” and is a “mid-range game creator with (an) emerging arsenal to the 3-point circle.”

The Lady Vols expect to lose four seniors after next season, Kellie Harper’s second campaign as head coach in Knoxville: guard/forward Rennia Davis, forwards Kasiyahna Kushkituah and Jaiden McCoy; and center/forward Keyen Green, a graduate transfer from Liberty University whose addition was announced in mid-April.
