An AARP refresher course on driver safety will be hosted by Senior Neighbors, an Alexian Brothers ministry, on Thursday, Jan. 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Senior Neighbors building, 1000 Newby St.
The course, for ages 50 and up, will cover a variety of topics, including how seniors can enhance their driving skills and update their knowledge on current rules of the road. Attendees also will learn how they can reduce their risks of receiving traffic violations, crashes and injuries. Senior drivers going through normal age-related physical changes will learn how to adjust their driving to help keep them safe. Many insurance companies offer a discount to those who complete the course.
The cost to attend is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch. To register, call Senior Neighbors at 755-6100.
