Friends of Hixson is collecting money through the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga to support placing five welcome signs at the various entranceways to Hixson. Gene Huffine, sign coordinator for Friends of Hixson, says the estimated cost for each sign is $2,400. The first ” Welcome to Hixson” sign will be placed along Highway 153 north of DuPont Parkway. The colors on the sign will be black and gold and it will be 8 feet wide and 3 feet tall.
The Hixson Council has been working on erecting welcome signs to the community for several years and has now partnered with Friends of Hixson to get this accomplished.
