A 19-year-old man is in jail today after police say he shot a man in the leg in an alley on West 38th Street in December 2014.

Darrius Harris is charged with attempted first-degree murder in the attack. He is a validated member of 52 Hoover Crips, according to police.

The victim, Dartangan Rollins, said he was walking with another man on W. 38th when a vehicle rolled up and five or six shots rang out.

Rollins said he did not see the shooter, but the second man repeatedly told police the shooter was Harris, who is also known as “Deedy Weedy.”

The second man provided police with photos of Harris and told police he recognized Harris because they’d met several times before.

Harris is also charged with aggravated assault, two counts of reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
