Do you know why we pinch people who don’t wear green on St. Patrick’s Day?
According to Irish folklore, wearing green makes one invisible to leprechauns, who apparently like to pinch. So it is said that pinching those not in green on St. Patrick’s Day is a reminder: Beware of the mischievous fairy creatures.
This year, avoid the pinch. Here are some local spots where you can get your green on this weekend.
And here are a couple more stories:
Two Chattanooga teachers have started a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for a tour bus, or, more aptly, a “survival support” vehicle, which they’ll use to deliver tents, clothes and other supplies to homeless camps.
The Tennessee Aquarium opened “Island Life” today, a new exhibit that challenges how “islands” are defined while taking guests on a globe-trotting exploration of isolated ecosystems above and below the water.
