New works by Karen Keil Brown, such as “Mountain High,” a 40- by 30-inch oil on canvas, will be on view during an open house from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Shuptrine’s Gold Leaf Designs, 2646 Broad St. Brown says creating art is “a form of meditation” in which she may lose her sense of time and place while working.
