MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The National Guard Association of Tennessee says attendance at this weekend’s conference in Murfreesboro will be higher than last year despite the deployment of more than 3,500 soldiers.
The association estimates 1,000 will attend the business session Saturday despite the deployment to Iraq by the 278th Armor Cavalry Regiment and the 194th Engineer Brigade Headquarters.
Sixty-five defense contractors from across the country will have exhibits.
Gov. Phil Bredesen is to speak Saturday.
