LOOKOUTS 8, JUMBO SHRIMP 6
Tuesday’s recap: Facing the Miami Marlins’ top prospect, pitcher Sixto Sanchez, did not faze the Chattanooga team. The visiting Lookouts (7-6) scored seven runs with two outs in taking a 2-1 lead in the series. Michael Beltre’s solo home run in the top of the fourth built a 4-3 lead that became 8-3 later in the frame on Ibandel Isabel‘s grand slam that chased Sanchez. Isabel has a .347 batting average, six home runs and 18 RBIs in the second half of the league’s season, and he regained the league lead in RBIs at 56, while his 20 home runs are five more than any other player. Taylor Trammell was 2-for-5 with a home run and a pair each of runs and RBIs. Aaron Fossas got his fourth pitching win with 2 1/3 scoreless innings, and Juan Martinez’s two-inning save closed the door. Jacksonville fell to 7-6 despite five hits and a home run from Billy Fleming.
