Much of the Chattanooga area could see some severe weather Sunday.

The storms bring with them the chance for heavy rain, lightning and damaging winds, according to WRCB meteorologist David Karnes. There’s also a potential for isolated tornadoes.

The National Weather Service in Morristown, Tennessee, said hail up to quarter size could fall.

The timing for these storms is between 5 a.m. and 9 a.m., he said Friday. The risk for the area from Dunlap all the way down to Calhoun, Georgia, is “enhanced.” Some areas could see 0.5-0.75 inches of rain.
