A weekend of live music
This weekend brings not one but three socially distanced opportunities for musical performances.
On Friday at 7 p.m., Northside Presbyterian Church will play host to a pandemic approved version of Divas and Drinks featuring Opera Tennessee singers and local composer Tim Hinck at the piano. Bring lawn chairs (and snacks) to sit in the parking lot or tune your radio to the prescribed station. And don’t forget your mask for any interaction outside of your 6-foot bubble.
On Saturday, head to White Oak Park for a Sensory Friendly Concert by the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera. This special quintet performance allows for movement, interaction or easy listening, though the typical Instrument Petting Zoo will not be available out of concern for the health and safety of all participants. In order to allow for social distancing, the event is limited to 35 attendees and masks are required for adults. Reserve your seat by by emailing amorgan@chattanoogasymphony.org.
Or, swing by Barking Legs for the next in its Drive-In Dance series. The original score features heartfelt stories, poetry and introspections on the state of the world and our places in it, combined with music and soundscapes that will take the audience through the hearts and minds of the people dancing in the headlights. Admission to the 9 p.m. event is $25 per vehicle, with the option to donate more to support Barking Legs and the artists. Though guests will remain in their cars, masks are required should they choose to open their windows. Buy tickets in advance at our.show/barkinglegs/2500.
