PLAYER OF THE YEAR
QUANEISHA MCCURTY
In leading the Lady Catamounts to a 32-1 record and state-runner-up finish, McCurty averaged nearly 15 points to go with 13 rebounds and right at five blocked shots per game. Her lane presence in itself made an already-talented Dalton team great.
“With her inside, it changed our whole approach defensively,” coach Jeff McKinney said. “We were able to play more aggressively because we knew Quan was in the lane. She improved on the offensive end, but defensively she was a dominating
presence.” McCurty has committed to play collegiately at Louisville, but she has not signed and has said she will consider other schools before doing so. The 6-foot-5 center had flashed moments of dominance in her previous two seasons, but a light came on after she transferred from Northwest Whitfield to Dalton for her final season.
