A Hamilton County judge sentenced the man convicted of killing two people and injuring another in a 2023 Frazier Avenue crash to 14 years prison Monday.
Randy Vega, 46, was arrested after a Thanksgiving weekend crash that killed a Florida mother and her 1-year-old son, permanently injuring the child’s father, Octavio Devia Paz.
In court, Devia Paz said the collision left behind an emptiness nothing can fill.
“A man who’s lost everything,” he said, “loses the hope to live.”
Vega expressed his condolences and spoke directly to Devia Paz in Spanish. The defendant later translated it for the court.
