WASHINGTON (AP) – Hillary Rodham Clinton is tapping some of the biggest donors to her family’s philanthropy for her presidential campaign, even as the charity is under scrutiny over its own fundraising practices.

Many of the hosts for her first wave of fundraisers in New York, Washington and California have donated large sums to her family’s political campaigns as well as to the Clinton Foundation.

The donor connections show how intertwined the family’s charity has become with politics since Clinton was last on the ballot during her unsuccessful 2008 presidential campaign.

Clinton is attending three fundraisers in New York City on Tuesday. She is also raising money in Washington on Thursday and in California next week.
