GPS students receive scholarships
Isabella Cornea, a senior at Girls Preparatory School, is one of 20 students to receive a Presidential Scholarship for Distinguished Service from Wake Forest University.
Recipients are students who “possess exceptional talent in art, dance, debate, music and theater,” according to a Wake Forest new release. Applicants must present evidence of outstanding talent and are asked by the Presidential Scholarship committee for documentation of that talent, such as portfolios.
Cornea has been a member of the Technical Theatre Team for four years and served as sound manager this year. She has been stage manager for multiple plays and musicals. Additionally, she is a National Merit scholar, a senior representative on the GPS Honor Council and plays violin in the Honors Orchestra.
* Sisters Leah and Lori Baxter, also seniors at GPS, have each been awarded a PEO Star Scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year.
